9th Way Insignia is looking for an Engineer, 3 (Senior), Principal Solutions Architect to join our corporate team.  Our corporate team is comprised of high-performing, collaborative members with a balance of skills and over a century of combined experience.

As an Engineer, 3 (Senior), at 9th Way Insignia, you be responsible for overseeing all operations within a designated area.  Using your experience and expertise, you will take charge of establishing goals, deadlines and budgets. As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will serve as the technical lead for executing the activities within the solutioning process in support of the Business Development, Capture and Proposal Teams.  You will provide technical expertise in areas of Software, Analytics, Agile, DEVSECOPS, DataOps, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Cyber, Computer Science and/or AI/ML. You will staycurrent on emerging technologies and how they relate to current and future work.  You will use your understanding of the government and commercial technology markets, customer needs, and 9th Way Insignia expertise and experience to support growth activities. 

Responsibilities
  • Identify, tailor, and integrate technical capabilities and innovations to address customer needs, hot buttons, pain points and requirements to help shape opportunities and contribute to winning proposals. 
  • Work within the Business Development team to provide technical subject matter expertise in developing customer and market penetration strategies through analysis, design, and solution approaches to meet client requirements and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of customer requirements.
  • Contribute to demos, proposals, presentations, and other customer-facing artifacts.
  • Lead the development of a technical solution and price competitive proposal; coordinate with technical contributors on solution development, white papers, presentations, proposal writing, and estimating.
  • Lead and contribute to proposal as author and reviewer Evaluate and recommend technical solutions to meet client needs.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, discovery, solution sessions, and solution exercises.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, technical writing, and proofreading. Effectively translate complex issues for a variety of audiences.
  • Participate in development of solutions to problems of that are simple to complex and require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Planning Solution and Proposal Support:
    • Lead solution sessions and prepare technical approaches (people, process and tools) to meet customer requirements including integrating the solutions into technical functions such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, software development, data analytics, cloud computing, and enterprise IT.
    • Recommend industry best practices that align to federal acquisition policies.
    • Define and document business processes, data maps, solution design and workflow and logical processes to meet objectives; design, develop and refine complex graphics.
    • Identify levels of effort for a given contract bid, assess internal capabilities, identify gaps, and work with teams to interview, onboard, and coach teaming partners to ensure a seamless, integrated solution.
Requirements
  • Bachelors and 14+ years of related experience
  • Possession of industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, AWS, CISSP)
  • Demonstrated expertise providing innovative solutions in any of the following:  Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Cyber, Analytics, AI/ML 
  • Extensive proposal experience leading or supporting technical solution development
  • Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle
  • Experience with multi-cloud architectures, containerization, service-based architectures, and hybrid IT
  • Understanding of technology methodologies, best practices, delivery models or frameworks relevant to domain area expertise
  • Knowledge of standard selling disciplines, specifically solution and RFP management
  • Experience design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications
  • Experience in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture for technology/software sales
  • Experience developing solutions that exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
  • Understanding of architectural principles for cloud-based platforms including SaaS PaaS, multi-tenancy and automation
  • Knowledge of Data Science COTS tools such as Dataiku, Tableau, Alteryx, H2O AI
Location
This is a remote position but may require occasional onsite visits to the corporate office in Ashburn, VA.

Compensation
$96,370-$155,546
